Some of us are diamonds,

some are diamonds in the rough.
Some of us seemingly cruise
through life, while others do it tough.

 

Just like diamonds we have our flaws
and we come in many shapes and sizes.
We have numerous facets, some harder
than others, some without compromises.

 

Sometimes it is hard to shine,
to even find that inner glow.
Although it is always there, we may
need a little help to make it show.

 

We all contribute 
to this journey we call life,
but the real value of a person
is how they handle their days of strife.

 

We can lose our lustre if we don't
feel loved or if people around us are unkind.
Know that we can all rise above it, like 
diamonds, we are beautiful if not yet refined.©
