Tribute to 'The Dream Time'
Told over thousands of years,
to keep Generations in touch.
Stories that over the longest time
have also come to mean so much.
The Dreaming is our History,
culture, the lore from a time long past.
These stories have been continually told
and for this reason, they will forever last.
The Dreaming is very much a part of
our Country, part of this sacred earth.
This special bond began,
pre our Nations recorded birth.
The Totem is the symbol
of each mob, kin or clan,
celebrating their unique culture
and how their Spirits connect to man.
The stories have been shared
throughout all of time.
Our Countries real history
with many lives, even today entwine.
The ochre particularly
the red and the white,
an integral part of ceremony,
part of their ritual, their sacred rite.
The Story of the sisters
that were turned to stone.
Katoomba's Three Sisters
as they will be forever known.
The wind, the rain
are the perfect storm,
they are all akin, representing
those now passed in a different form.
Our greatest wonder Ayer's rock,
the Spiritual Centre called Uluru,
which has significant meaning for our
Aboriginal people and we should respect it too.
Significant to all Australians,
is The Dream Time, The Dreaming
regardless of from where we came,
it still has significant meaning.
We just need to remember, we are all
guardians of this land, of mother earth
and of father time, so let's all do what
we can to protect it, for all we are worth. ©
